Hi Experts,

I have a Domino server version 6.0.2 CF1 for Windows which is upgrade from R5. Now, I am plan to upgrade it to R6.5. I have some questions about the upgrade:
1. Is the most important thing - Some mail file now in the the 6.0.2 Domino Server still R4 and R5, how can I upgrade these mail file to R6 or R6.5 ? Can I    upgrade the mail files on the server side?
2. To upgrade the 6.0.2 Domino server to R6.5, what things should I prepare before the upgrade ?
3. What is the most suitable way to upgrade the server from 6.0.2 to R6.5 ? It means the most safty and most fast way to upgrade.

I think this question is easy to a expert!

regards,

So, for 50 points 4 questions?

1.Remove network connections
2.Backup entire notes folder(Notes and Domino folders)
3.Install Domino new version on the live server
4.Once you installed domino server new version, it will create a new address book for you. Just delete it and notes.ini file also. Then replace it with the old Address book and notes.ini files. For id's just copy into the notes data directory. When prompted for id's, just point to that directory.
5. Run domino server. It will ask to update all names.nsf. enter yes. It will take some time.
6. Check whether emails (by testing incoming and outgoing mails)
7. It is a good process to compact all the applications. (see help how to compact)
8. Thats's it. Your New version of domino server is on.

For upgrading mailo files;
there is a command line. check in admin help.
load convert [-r | -l | -f | -m] mailfilepath existingtemplatename newtemplatefilename

Actually I already try to use the "load convert" but I found the mail file still showing R5 at the format column in Domino Administrator. But I see it already use the new template stdR6mail.

Is there any other step need to do?
