PC FREEZES WHEN ACCESSING ANOTHER

i have 2 computers connected up to a adsl router, one of the machines would not work if connected to the router because everytime it was connected the pc would lock up and all i could do was reset. i fixed this problem by sticking the xp disk in and running sfc /scannow to check if the protected files were ok, after that had finished, the machine stopped freezing and i was able to surf the net on it like before. the problem i have now is if i go into network neighbourhood and put a file in a shared folder it freezes, also freezes when the other machine tries to send a file to it where as the machine im using the folder just locks up, i have a printer connected to my main computer i use the most and the other machine also freezes when u try to print,

Any idea whats happening,
doubt if its a hardware problem

It could be that XP is trying to scan your network for scheduled tasks..  this is the default behavior for this OS..  Try the reg hack in this document:
