I have a Windows 2003 server that is a DC with DNS / exchange 2003 installed.

When the server boots the following error is shown once

---------------
Event 7022 The Kerberos Key Distribution Center service hung on starting.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
---------------

If you check the status of the service it has started.  DC Diag and Netdiag run with no errors

I have seen a load of posts on this (eventid.net etc) regafing the 7022 event but non relating to "Key Distribution Center"

Ideas?

The error is not so serious. Probably it is trying to start before RPC has started. It will subsequently start when it gets a kick in the butt from Net Logon.

Have you set your time servers? That will probably speed thing up a bit when it starts up.
