I want to be able to read the text of each slide in a PowerPoint presentation.

Can I do that? If so, how?

ASP can't really do it on it's own...read the last few paragraphs of "What is ASP"...
http://www.asp101.com/wrox/asp2samp/2459ch01.asp

You will basically be using the objects here...
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/vbapp10/html/ppobjapplication.asp

You'll have to change the syntax to use ASP/VBScript such as...
     Set ppt = New Powerpoint.Application
will be
     Set ppt = Server.CreateObject("PowerPoint.Application")

BTW, you also need powerpoint installed on your web server.
