I need help setting up port forwarding to allow remote desktop connections across the Nortel Contivity 100 NAT that we use.
I need specific help finding the syntax of the commands used in this NAT box.

The contivity 100 uses Baystack Instant Internet 7.20

Any help would be great.

Thanks.

This is athe link to the confguration guide
http://www116.nortelnetworks.com/docs/bvdoc/contivity/doc_pdf/315896C00.pdf

NAT begins on Pg 71. Your device uses a wizard so after reading the chapter on NAT you should be just fine.

Hmmm... I get a Access Denied when I try to access this link.
I don't think this is the right document anyways. This device does not have a wizard of any kind. You may be thinking of the contivity configuration manager which you have to buy and I dont even think they sell it anymore. (Contivity devices were phased out a while ago.)

I'm looking for help with the config file this box uses. Here is the current one if that helps:

dns suffix instant.net
encapsulation aux terminal
name XXXX
ifconfig eth1 ipaddress 10.170.150.1 255.255.255.0
dhcp configure eth3
ifconfig eth3 xlate out
hostname eth3
ip forwarding on
route add default eth3
route add 10.180.1.0/24 eth1 10.180.150.2
route add 192.57.43.34/32 eth1 10.180.150.2
route add 192.57.43.65/32 eth1 10.180.150.2
route add 204.104.220.0/24 eth1 10.180.150.2
route add 205.239.188.15/32 eth1 10.180.150.2
dnsproxyd start
identd start
snmpd start
socksd start
tcpserver
telnetd start
webproxy start
webserver start

I think for port forwarding you need to add infilters but I can't seem to find the right syntax.

I got the link by going to
http://www.nortelnetworks.com/products/01/contivity/100/
then clciking on the Techincal Spec link on the right hand side

Eveything i have seen on this device shows using a web interface for configuration. Have you tried using that?

Connect further...control easier

With the ATEN CE624, you can now enjoy a high-quality visual experience powered by HDBaseT technology and the convenience of a single Cat6 cable to transmit uncompressed video with zero latency and multi-streaming for dual-view applications where remote access is required.

It does have a web configuration page but it simply lets me edit the config file as shown above.

The web interface is baystack instant internet 7.20

I am still having problems getting it to work but the documentation has helped a lot. One of the biggest problems is that I am missing the software that came with the device.

I contacted the suplier and they are shipping me the configuration software (Contivity branch access 7.20) tomorrow. Hopefully that will help.

Thank you Mark. I will accept your answer and if I have more problems I will list another question.

Thanks!
