PPT- slide number in center; not displayed in master view

slide prints out w/number centered in slide.  no reference(box) for it in slide master view/slide layout/master layout.

hey

go to insert menu -> slide number ..... in the dialog box that opens, uncheck "Slide Number"

see if that helps
