Personal Folder/Outlook XP: some folders not visible

but when I do an advanced find, I find emails and it indicates the folder that the email is in, but does NOT give a path.

Now, I've combed through the personal folder itself for any subfolders, and the folder specified is NOT visible!!! I can find individual emails, but not certain folders!

I've tried compacting, scanpst (NPF), no office updates are needed.

This MAY have happened after doing Windows and Office updates... or not.

Folder missing is due to corruption of mapisvc.inf file
You should be able to replace this file from a different machine having the same outlook version

or

You can get it from the installation CD of office..

Alas, did that and it did NOT do the trick.  Any other possible solutions?

Sorry, forgot about the posting, as the user ended up FINDING the missing messages, buried in another folder.  Turns out it was user error...
