Inheritance of form, tab pages & user control

I am working on a project in visual basic  6 in which  I want to create a base program from which I want to inherit forms with / without tab pages.
If it is with tab pages then first tab page should be always be called as idw_mast. 2nd tab page as idw_trans[1],3rd tab page as idw_trans[2]
globally and so on. Also I want to create user objects having common global functions and variables which I can use in my all forms.
Can I use user control for this purpose? If yes, explain what is user control, how to use it with examples and where to use it ? If no, then tell me what to use to serve above purpose.
Also tell me about tab pages with examples.

Pl. help me

You should create a custom control. This way, you can customize the control to be used in different ways in different Forms.
Embed the entire functionlity into this control. Make properties and methods that can be used to specify how many tabs to use.... after that, the tabs can be generated based on the logic that you described before. Tabs can be created both at design time and run-time (programatically). Take advantage of this.

If you need more help, please let me know.

Best of luck.
