I have a remote sitred connected through a VPN link and when i try to do a dcpromo i get the below error.

The operation failed because:

Active Directory could not replicate the directory partition CN=Schema,CN=Configuration,DC=gcdomain,DC=local from the remote domain controller zeus.gcdomain.local.

"The remote procedure call was cancelled."

Is the remote server pointing to a DNS server containing the gcdomain.local domain?  If not, this needs to be changed to point to the proper DNS server.
