Home networking problem

i have 2 computers connected in a wereless network thro a router. both computers can access internet but my downloads speed decreased a lot (from 50 or more kbps when one comp was connected directly to cable modem to less then 1 kbps now) and also when i go to "my network places" and to view workgroup computers only the computer that im on is there? both coputers are in same workgroup "Mshome"

please help...

Can you ping the other computer from the workstation you are view My Network Place from?

first what operating system are you running?

If XP/2000 (do this on both computers)
1. goto Start -> Run
2. type "cmd" without the quotes and press enter
3. A dos command prompt windows should pop-up.
4. type "ipconfig" without the quotes and press enter
5. make note of the IP Address field
6. type "ping " the ip address of the other computer
      ie: ping 192.168.1.1
7. if you get a reply then the connection to your network is good

Try that first.

hmm its giving me some weird stuff here...

ok so i have 2 comps in "network" (thats not working) one ip is 192.168.0.2 other 192.168.0.3

192.168.0.3 is connected directly to cable modem and when i " ping 192.168.0.3 " it works ok when i " ping 192.168.0.2 " on that same comp it doesnt work

the other one ,192.168.0.2, is connected thro wireless router and on that one i can't ping any one of them

now im realy confused here.....i hope ur not....
