hi, i have office 2003 installed , and i cant open files e.g. a powerpoint or mpg
file that someone sends as an inserted object. when i drag the file to explorer,it becomes a "scrap" object, and even if i rename this file to 1.ppt for e.g , i still cant view it. but on any other pc i can view it.
the error i get :
the server application source file or item cannot be found
make sure the application is properly installed and that it has not been deleted renamed or moved.
hopefully theres another way than reinstalling
thanks!

jxharding,

I don't think there's an easy way out... I appears that your registry is somewhat messed up.

Try to "repair" your office installation (in the Control Panel, choose Add or Remove Programs, then select Microsoft Office 2003, then Change. The installation Wizard starts. Click on "Reinstall or Repair" and "Next>". then "Detect and repair" and "Install". Maybe this fixes it. If it doesn't, you'll probably have to re-install...

Hope this helps
