Because of the max length of a page in SQL Server is 8KB. And only 8060 Bytes can be used to contain context! The common data type in SQL Server can't
extend the limit! So error occurs in your case!

You can use the text or image type to contain the large value.
The limit of the two type is 2G.

But when in another page it simply says it is going to truncate because it exceeds the limit.

what are you putting in the table, that you need a record which is that large?  It is quite often a sign of a problem with the table design.
