SBS Server 2000 Netlogon

I have a SBS 2000 server and I tried to logon and can't get pass starting networking services. When I tried to get into safe mode I tried to logon has administrator with the password and no luck. But when i tried to logon on administrator with no password I get "unable to log you on because the netlogon service is not running on this machine". Also I tried the emergcy repair process.

That did not work we did a manual system restore. I install a copy of Windows 200 server to another disk, and went into the C:\winnt \restore file amd move the system spoftware and secuirty files and move them into the C:\winnt \system32\config folder, thus performing a manuel system restore.

It work

thanks

I don't know it just happen
the only other thing that i can suggest is start pulling out stuff, sound card, disconnect cd, any addin that you've got just to try to get it in at least the safe mode, if nothing helps that a new install is the only recourse. unless ocourse you have a compatable machine that you can put your hd in and see if it boots there, if so then you know that you've got a faulty piece of hardware in the present machine.

good luck

The  problem seems to be fixed by moving the files
