Hi guys,

We are using the following code to call webservice through proxy.

proXy = New WebProxy(drSchedule("server"), CType(drSchedule("port"), Integer))
proXy.Credentials = New System.Net.NetworkCredential("username","password")
proXy.BypassProxyOnLocal = True
GlobalProxySelection.Select = proXy

url = "http://www.google.com"
webReq = WebRequest.Create(strurl)
webReq.Proxy = proXy
webResp = webReq.GetResponse

This works perfectly with httpproxy having basic authentication. But not working through socks. Can anybody give any idea how to get it working through socks. Also if somebody can explain how these different type authentication works on proxies. We have to distribute this software and each client is using different proxies with different settings. how can we make our software compatible with all types of proxies.

Thanks
Anish

what settings are you looking to make differant? If it's user name and password you'll have to pop-up an input box to collect that information. Else try this links
