Hi,

I just pluged in a regular video cable in the back of my laptop and the other end to my tv.
I selected TV and I can see my computer desktop on the TV. But for some reason the I can't see the whole desktop on the TV. All I see is just half iof the desktop on the TV screen. I would have to scroll left or right to see the other half. The picture also looks a bit blurry.

Yep try change the resolution and refresh rate at "Adapter" tab to 60Hz
Because mostly television got refresh rate 60Hz.

And when I use television adapter for my laptop (Toshiba Tecra 8100D), the picture also looks a bit blurry (not focused). I can't try anymore because my father in overseas is using it right now :)

but from microsoft, i think it's normal. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/windowsmediaplayer/expert/pctotv.mspx

"Text Appears Fuzzy:  Don't be surprised if items such as desktop icons or fine text appear blurry when displayed on the television. Your TV was not designed to display the same degree of fine resolution as a VGA monitor. You will not want to use your television for activities such as browsing text-heavy Web pages. However, for the purpose of watching computer-based digital video, resolution should be acceptable."
