cannot burn data dvd ?

Hi,
i´m trying to burn data dvd but it doesnt work:
i tried with Nero (v 5.5.8.1). in rekorder typ  i choosed :(dvd+rw, adapter atapi).
  when i start burning, didnt work, and says that the typ of medien is not compatible! i have DVD-R 4.7 GB recordable dvd and a RICOH DVD+RW MP5240  .

I thought that the problem is in Nero, so i tried with CDBurnerXP pro 3, and when I start burning it says:The layout countains mor data that the medien cann store !!

I dont know hwere the problem is. an dneed your help.

your problem  is that the media your using it dvd-r  not .........................  " DVD+R""

check your manual or read the side of the box it only supports dvd+r
