Hi..

Can anyone refer me to an affordable  Wireless Solution, that allows me to connect to the internet via DSL?

I have a home DSL connection, and wondering if i can use the same connection at Work (that is 2.5 Miles away from home)

Or i am just a dreamer, and there is no such a thing?

I am aware that there are wireless soultions inside the work space, and open areas....

But can i actually connect to the Internet from Work, using the home connection (in home).

Both side are Deaktop mcahines (not labrops).

Thanks
Mary

There are solutions but not practical.  Microwave dishes.ETC Very very expensive. Your best bet is to just get dsl at work.

Hi,

Buy a cheap wireless router, (ex. Linksys)  that has VPN connectivity.  This wireless router will come off of your DSL modem.  If your PC and laptop or other PC's have wireless cards they will be able to connect to it.

For your work connection you wouldn't be able to connect to the same connection but you could have a VPN setup so you could access shared drives and resources on your home computer through a Tunnel created by the VPN.

Hope that helps.

Oh one more thing...there is a solution for distances up to 45 miles but there has to be line of sight between the two points.  Check out www.proxim.com  and look at the Tsunami products.
