What happens is this:

ON SOME COMPUTERS when trying to download a word document the user is asked to give a username and password. You can click cancel - and you get to see the document.

But it is extremly annoying - and looks bad.

Any clues how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

The word documents are from Office 2000 Prof and the webserver is:

Windows 2003 / IIS 6.0.

As far as I remember the problem also existed with IIS 5.0 / windows 2000.

A little survaying points to frontpage have something to do with it - the problems seems to occur on machines with frontpage - but this is not 100%
