Compare Knockout with MaskPro

Knockout looks to cost $99 while MaskPro is $185. I'm ready to wade into a couple decades worth of home photos chock full of telephone poles growing out of peoples heads, awesome pet shots with a beer can in the way and the like. Is MaskPro worth the extra bucks? Any other alternatives to consider?

Im saying what you need to do is in some areas going to be beyond the capabilities of KnockOut (removing a telephone pole or beer can) and in other cases Knockout would be HUGE overkill. You need a diverse set of tools. Knockout and Mask Pro are for VERY specific masking tasks, and not for general masking or object removal.

Honestly, you dont need either to get rid of telephone poles and beer cans. Photoshop is what you need, and if youre talking about KnockOut and MaskPro you probably already have Photoshop. Both those tools are for advanced masking. What you need to do is basic image editing and object removal which photoshop handles without extra expensive doo-dads.

Fireworks isn't going to be so great for that. But neither will Knockout or MaskPro. You need Photoshop Elements at least which is the toned down version of Photoshop and somewhat cheaper.

Your saying the masking capabilities of Photoshop Elements is better than a dedicated plugin like Knockout?
