Sending email by itself
hi,
My boss got an email said something , " ......develiver faild.........".......The mail said he sent an eamil to one of his contacts, because that contact's email is out of date, so it got sent back.......but my boss said that he did not send that email? ideas?
I have check the virus and spyware.....thx

Someone else that has your boss in your contact list could be affected by a virus. The virus would send itself over using a spoofed email adress (your boss email in this case), and since the other address does not exist, the server at the other end would send a reply to your boss saying that the address does not exist. This is probably the explanation!

So, it does not mean that my boss's machine is affected by that virus, it just that virus in someone's machine is using my boss's email......??
Strange enough, that email was sent to a person that worked in our company years ago, my boss did not delete that contact, so, it is possible that this "host" know my boss and that person?? (am I in right track?? ) lol

Yes.. that's it! it doesnt mean that your boss was infected, not at all..

1.So, unless "HOST" cleans that virus, my boss has no way to find out who that was, and cant do anything about it???
2.maybe this is the question on the side, when clients received that kind of email....I guess it is hard to explain..........

Yes, that's it.. the client will be receiving it from time to time, sometime, he wont receive anything, there is some chance that your boss will never see this again too.
