I set up my website using old english font on some of the words.  When other people view the website it is just showing up as plain text probably because they don't have that font installed.  How do i get around this so that regardless of the font i use to create, the website will work for all surfers.

The website will always work, it just won't look the same. The best you can do is specify a range of fonts with CSS. The users browser will use the first one it finds that it knows. As an example:
<head>
<style type="text/css">
p { font-family: "old english", times, "times new roman", georgia, serif; }
</style>
</head>

If you absolutely need that font, then you have to use images...
