explorer.exe crashes when I try to install fonts

I'm trying to install a new font on to my WinXP Pro machine. No matter how I try to install the fonts, explorer.exe crashes.

I'm in a hurry and don't have time to re-install Windows. Is there a way to do it manually so I can at least get this report done on time?

Thanks!

I opened a command prompt and copied the 2 files to the \fonts directory, but they are not listed as available fonts in Word.

I can't copy and paste, because when I browse to the \windows\fonts folder explorer.exe crashes.

hmmmmmm its good that u have got them,,,,, but the rashing of explorer while opening fonts folder means u are having a corrupted font which is casuing this..... but ofcourse its hard to know while particular font is this =|

But u can look in the evenviewer, goto Start>Run>and type  eventvwr.msc
hit enter and look in the Application and System sections, that what details are u getting of explorer.exe crashing....
may be u can get an idea from here to trace out the root cause of this problem !!!!

!! Good Luck !!
