Check out this link:  http://www.laptopsforless.com/laptopaccessories.htm

The first item in the list (Universal Car Adapter (DC-AC Inverter)) is what I would suggest.  It inverts the DC output from your car's lighter into AC current that you can plug any AC device into (that uses 100W or less, like most laptops).

Here's a few more links for this type of product:

http://www.stayonline.com/inverters/index.asp

Also, I've seen them at Target, so you can check them out there.

OR there is something like this:

http://www.buy.com/retail/Product_jump.asp?sku=10348444&SearchEngine=GoogleD&Type=GoogleD&Keyword=10348444&Category=Comp&dcaid=17260

But, this is more expensive and it comes with "10 adapter tips that match virtually any notebook computer", which doesn't mean that it WILL work for your laptop.  This one seems a little risky to me; I'd go with the DC-AC inverter.

Ireland... ?  I'm not sure what voltage you run on there?  We run on 120V in the US, how about you?

Sorry I took so long to get back to you, I must have missed the email with all the spam!!
