Windows Mobile 2003 Today Screen Question

Does anybody know what the Today Timeout Value does in the today control panel? I have tried changing it from 4 to 12 hours to 0 hours and can't figure out what it does.

If you are in middle of an application and it Passes your X (value of hours) it automatically displays the Today screen.

I feel stupid. Thanks for answering. You would think this would make it into the online help or one of the manuals. Sadly on mine, it didn't. Thanks again.
