How can I backup a Remote Server with Veritas 8.0

I have a web-server that is not part of my domain for security reasons that sits on external network.  How can I install the backup exec agent accelerator on this machine.  When I try to perfrom the install from the backup server it say that I must enter in the domain and server name in this fashion: \\domain\machine, however I cannot do this.  Is this the best way to back it up?

Thanks,

I guess from what you've posted that your web server is in a DMZ and therefore behind a firewall. Take a look at these articles:

For BE 9.0/9.1: http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/255831.htm
For BE 8.6: http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/243104.htm

If you have a stateful firewall, things start to get a little uglier as the firewall inspects each packet as it passes  - which slows backups down hugely.

Hope this helps.
