Outlook express - redirection of local folders and address book
Currently, I am using OE6 and would like to move the location of the local folders (inbox, deleted items, sent items...etc)
I want to move them to another partition for easier b/u. I could change the location of the user profile but I do not want all that to move. Just the Local folders and my docs (done that).

ok Sunray, I searched for 30 minutes and couldn't find it. I guess I need to look harder next time.
Now, to WAB. If I follow the tip you gave, the alternate partition that holds the wab would need to be constantly updated (export to). I would like OE to USE THAT WAB as the primary source for addressing.
I couldn't find a setting within OE. I am going to look for a reg hack.
Thanks for the DBX pointer... I should have found that :-( duh

Not sure what you meant here ?
going to that store folder inside OE --> tools --> options --> maintainence , you should be able to find the path where the DBX files are located... Can you not find those ?
For address book , open OE
click on Addresses to open the address book
then can you not find File --> export --> 3 options should be here ..

I meant that I should have been able to find that myself. It was in plain site :-)
as for the wab. I want to OE to look for it in another partition instead of in user profile.
reghack here worked:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software \Microsoft \WAB\WAB4\ Wab File Name
I changed the key value to K:\wab.wab
then moved the old wab to that path and it worked.
Thanks for the help. Since I found the second part myself... You get an F grade.
dang, can't give F... ok B then :-) Thanks

Great find .. Thanks for the B.. nothing to be concerned abt
Open address book inside outlook express
goto file --> export and export as WAB file
Now you can move that WAB file to any location and import it back into OE
