Try this thread:

http://www.experts-exchange.com/Operating_Systems/WinXP/Q_20310603.html?query=Dialup+connection+cuts&topics=231

you can also try reinstalling the dial-up adpater, You can go to your ISP provider to get the latest dial-up adapter.

1)The dialup adapter is removing without removing tcp stack?Or is better to reinstall the tcp either?
2) How to reinstall dialupadapter?Just removing from Control Panel/Network and reinstall it from XP CD?
3) I did not know the ISP's have such dial-up adapters! Do you have an example how are this adapteris? A zip file(how is their form?) ? DO you have an example? A site with a generic one?

1. I would do a fresh install if it doesnot effect any other services.
2. Yes just remove it from the control panel/Network, restart the computer and reinstall.
3. I'm in Malaysia, our ISP's provide the dial-up program, you can check it out at
http://dialup.time.net.my/. I'm not sure if U.S ISP offer it as download. You can check with your ISP provider

You can also try scanning with x-xleaner from http://www.xblock.com. It can scan a lot of malware.

c_m_ion,

Sorry for the delay, on leave for 2 days.

1. It will effect, but you can always reinstall the TCP/IP back.
2. http://www.time.net.my/download/TIMENet.exe

What ISP are you using?

Couldn't you find a dialer on your ISP's website? If not there are 3rd party dialers available. One is called dialler queen.

At dialerqueen they say:
"25-days trial version with full functionality."
May be after 25 days the half functionality is not appropriate for me!

Try this:

1. Try resetting the modem.
2. Check if there are any firmware updates available.
3. Try this thread: http://www.experts-exchange.com/Networking/Win95_Networking/Q_10052727.html?query=Dialup+connection+stops&clearTAFilter=true

Did you install any software/hardware prior to this problem?

c_m_ion,

I'll look up on what functionality they disable in the trial version and get back to you.

PS: I don't know what functions are appropriate for you.

I have emailed them the question as it is not stated on their site. In the mean time there are full-function dialp-up adapter available here:

http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Network_and_Internet/Dial-up_Networking_Dialers/

The free ones are:DUTraffic, RAS Logger System, and 1st Dialer.
Ok. What is the sequesnce of steps  to follow regarding removing the old dialup adapter and install the new one?
In my opinion:
-remove the old one.
-remove tcp ip(may  be the Microsoft client  FURTHER)
-run the dutraffic.exe (for ex.)
-reinstall tcp/ip! How? From XP CD?

Yes. I don't think XP CD is required to re-install TCP/IP

Also it will be better to get rid of any binding protocols like IPX etc and do a fresh install.

I got an email from dailer queen, this is what it states:

There are no any limitations in trial version except 30 days trial
period. After the trial period expires Dialer Queen won't work.

No functions will work after the trial period of 25 days. So I guess it is not for you.

Do you have a generic way  how to write the new firmware in modem' ROM memory?

zamorinCommented:
c_m_ion,

Generic way? I suppose you can check with your modem manufacturer if it is available on their site.
