I am new to the FW forum on EE so HELLO everyone! :)

I have a rectangle shape with a picture of the world in it.  (The world is laid out in a rectangular style)

I want to make it 3d in style and sort of turn it into a horizontal cylinder.

How can this be done?

The fact that you are reading this means alot to me and if you could bring yourself to write the solution - I will be over the moon!

I have a flattened atlas picture and I want to make it round again but not round in a circle.  I still want to keep the width at 600pixels.  I just want to change the effect.  Make it more curved horizontally.  Example. So the whole thing looks like it is printed on the side of a bottle/canister which is laid on its side.

I dont know how to explain it any more.

Do you want it 3 demensional or to just "look" like it's a horizontal cylinder?

Obviously....to achieve the look, there are portions of the image that would't be viewable as they would be part of the curve that is or might be out of view. If it's a 3 dimensional thing...well that's a whole other ball of wax.

Hi,

The effects you seem to be looking for are the "spherize" and similar 3d-bending types that exists for bitmapped images in mainly Adobe Photoshop. Unfortunately most of these effects dont exist as standard in Fireworks.
If you have, I would recommend to do this type of "bending" in Photoshop and put the result into FW.

With a smile
