How can I verify e-mail addresses in my personal contacts?

My question is this, is there some way or some tool that will allow me to verify all of the e-mail addresses in my personal contacts list?

I have been running Outlook 2000 SR-1 in workgroup mode for some time on a Windows 98SE platform. I have gathered a fairly large number of personal contacts. This morning I tried to send an e-mail to a large number of them. The message never got sent but I was returned an e-mail from System Administrator that said "Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients."

Followed by: "The following recipient(s) could not be reached:"

It then listed 31 e-mail addresses it could not reach but I know most of these are valid addresses. It appears that I have some invalid e-mail addresses amoung my many personal contacts. I need some way to find the ones that are no longer valid.

I don't think there is a way to verify these address without checking with the recipient. You may verify the domain part (the address part after @), but you won't be able to find out if the mailbox part (before the @ sign) is still exist on that domain until you actually send a message to the email address or contact the recipient by other mean. Even when you send a message for test, if the destination domain turns off outbound NDR (Non deliverable Report), you still won't know if the address is correct or not.
