Hi everyone

I am starting work on MDI forms and I have a form that is opened and displays records in a datagrid. When a record is selected for the first time i want a new form to open in the bottom half of the screen displaying the full record in a columnar form, however when the record in the top half of the screen is changed I want the bottom half of the screen to altar accordingly

I have almost got it to work!!!

I can select a record and open another MDI form showing all the records data but i am trying to horzantal tile it and not doing so well because the forms end up the wrong way round.

is this the best way to do what i want to and also how when i tile mdi child forms can i make one be at the top

cheers davoman

I believe that it is because of the Z-order of the forms.  You could try a BringToFront on one of the forms to change this behavior.

If you look at the property list for a Form in the code view, using Intellisense, there is the BringToFront method.

Example:

Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load

    Me.BringToFront

  End Sub
