IE6 XP SP2 is DEAD (flashlightsearch.com redirects)

My IE6 has been dysfunctional for several weeks.

Most query attempts have been redirected to flashlightsearch.com
which also does not resolve.  I think IE on this PC has been hijacked.

FInally, I read some docs, and removed "TV Media" Programs/Registry/File System
entries and rebooted.  Now I just get the ordinary "Cannot detect network settings".
NETSCAPE (of course) works fine.

If this was just my PC I'd be happy.  Since it belongs to my son I'm trying to get it
fixed.

Question - Are there any Trace Files in this miserable IE product for diagnosing this type
of *!@#$%^ (Bleep).

Question - I run SpyHunter and Norton AntiVirus on this box and find no unusal behavior.
Any other diagnostic tools for IE.

Long live the Evil MS-Empire :-B

You have probably unwittingly downloaded something nasty.

This link (largely courtesy of COBOLDinosaur) contains everything you need to know about spyware, scumware, adware, hijacked home pages etc and the tools you need to get rid of them:
