im looking to make a client program that users can run on their PC's, and a server program i can use to send out messages to any one running the client program. it would possibly move like a MSN messenger notification, except it wouldnt go away by itself. the server program would have something like this as a statistical feature:

Number of Clients listening: 234

and would have a way of sending alert messages to all listening clients.

hi....

goto site pscode.com

search with winsock and select visual basic from the combo box. Search is on the top of the page.

it will give some pretty good results on the first page itself.

hope this helps

Did you mean run your client/server program in a linux machine
or

if u want to run ur program in Linux u can use QT or Glide.
And if u want to run a linux server post the question in LInux area, i dont know Linux much :-)
