Exporting jsp data to excel in .csv extension

I am exporting the data from my portal to excel sheet using .csv format.The problem which i am facing is when the data is exported to client's machine it size becomes 6 times the actual size of data eg if the size of the actual data is 1 kb the size of the exported .csv file become 6 kb, because of this size problem i could not open the file in Excel becouse i have a huge data upto 16 mb to be exported

Excel as has limitation of importing 65536 rows of data, maybe you exieded it?
Also, when you import as csv as xls it will grow.
You could try just opening the csv.
