heidelberg linoscan 1400 on MacOS X

How can I install this scanner on MacOS X?
It worked fine on MacOS 9.

I've tried SilverFast AI but it said "Scanner not found. Check connection". The scanner is connected fine.
I also tried SCSI Probe to find the scanner on OS X but it didn't start, because it's for OS 9.

Any solution will be appreciated.
Thank you!

You will not be able to run any Heidelberg software on OS X. They only support up to OS 9.2. You do however have to options to get this to work: The scanner is supported by Sane (Scanner Access Now Easy - http://www.sane-project.org and http://www.rauch-domain.de/sane-umax/sane-umax-scanner-clones-doc.html), and you may be able to get this to work on OS X, but this very likely requires you to install other software like e.g. fink (http://fink.sourceforge.net/) in order to run Sane.

The second option is Vuescan (http://www.hamrick.com/vsm.html), which also supports the Linoscan 1400. You can download an evaluation version to see if this works for you. It will cost you some money to actually use the software, but if the alternative is to be stuck with 9.2 (or to get rid of the scanner), I think it's well worth it.

Vuescan was the easiest way :)
