Hello,
I am starting a website and on this website, I am looking for a way to let my visitors register their domain names right through us.  Are there any automated scripts that will register it for the user, all automatically?  I want the script actually on my site, not hosted through another company.

Thanks!
Matt

www.bulkregister.com > i believe they have an api for your site visitors to register directly thru you

or you could use a php script to do whois domain searches, if they come back not found, you can then register the domain for them, it is manual but works if you cant find anything else

I would suggest buying ModernBill   www.modernbill.com
This will do everything you need, including billing, server provisioning, the total package.  And its pretty cheap.
If you want to write your own, you can go to Enom www.enom.com and plug into their API.  It is not very hard, and you run the script on your page.  Good Luck
