unable to forward email after deleting attcahment

After using the delete attcahment feature in 4.6 whitch removes the file but leaves the icon and the filename there for refrence, the user is not able to forward the email as notes retuns error file not found. Well it wouldnt be because its been rmeoved.

does anyone know how to get round this

When it deletes.. it should remove icon and filename, if that sits there then a File object is sitting there without any real association with file. This is a problem and treated as corruption. Re-save the document and try to forward.

One workwaroung is change the delete attachment routine to properly remove the attachment using lotus notes methods.

We like the way it works as it does remove the file so could lose a 4mb attcahment out of the email but still keep the filename

that is not the way it is supposed to happen.. when you remove the $File fields and leave the internal pointers as such without cleaning'em up then you are stuck with this problem...

Use notesembeddedobject to look for attachments and remove them and keep file name instead ...

Also there is a tool available on sandbox which removes attachments and stores on file server and places a link instead there.. Let me provide the link to it..
