Cannot open .txt attachments Outlook 2000

for some reason i am able to open all attachments except for .txt files.  Anyone have any suggestions?

what do you get when you try to open a txt file?

You may need to re-establish a file association.  Open My Computer then click on the
Tools Menu | Folder Options
Click on the File Tyoes tab and scroll down to the TXT extension.  In the details section
it should say:  Opens with:  Notepad

If not, then click on the Change button and select Notepad from the available list.  If Notepad
is not available from this list you can click the OTHER button and browse to your
%SystemRoot%\system32\ folder and search for Notepad.exe.

Alternatively you can choose to open all TXT files with Wordpad.
