The following happens when I try and run isinteg against two offline databases:

I used the syntax "Isinteg -s myserver -test alltests -fix"
But when I chose, then confirm, I get the following message:

Continue?(Y/N)y
Isinteg cannot initiate verification process.
Please review the log file for more information.

But no log is producted ?

Please help.

bgoins - I have already seen this one. But thanks anyway.
All it says there about getting isinteg to work , is to stop the IS service.

When I do that, this happens:

D:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\BIN>isinteg -s ngsvr02 -test alltests -fix
Error: unable to get databases status from server. The reason could be either wrong server name or networking problems. Isinteg quits now.

It seems to need the IS service running. Is that true?

Please help. I need to access these databases real bad.

bgoins,

yer I know this thread.. I posted it. ;) thanks anyhow.

I have found the answer According to some dude on EE you can't use isinteg unless you can mount, by design.
Does this sound right?

But thanks for trying. It is nice to know that someone is trying to help.

Take care
Sorry I couldn't get back sooner and I wasn't more help:

Here is some info on your question about the IS service from this article:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;182081

"When you run Isinteg, Isinteg first checks to see whether the MSExchangeIS service is stopped. If the MSExchangeIS service is not stopped, the following message is displayed and Isinteg stops:
The Microsoft Exchange Information Store service must be stopped to run Isinteg. "

And here is the last question:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;287554

"This behavior is by design. You must mount the Exchange Server database, and then dismount it before you run Isinteg.exe. If you do not do so, you receive the error message described in the preceding section, and a log file is not created."
