I have a 3com homeconnect webcam and was wondering if there is any other software that would work with it?  I need software with a timer where you can preview the image.

"Webcam Timershot
This PowerToy lets you take pictures at specified time intervals from a Webcam connected to your computer and save them to a location that you designate. "

do you mean before the picture is saved?

Unfortunately, I don't know since i've never used it, but it's just a small program by microsoft (powertoys xp).  Why don't  you try it.

Try this one:

It's a good program with lots of features (and preview of course).
Also Web camera support is the main issue.
