Hi,

Boot Failure System Halt message appears at boot up but when I press Ctrl-Alt-Del after that it boots up fine.  It only happens when I press the on/off button on the tower case where this error message appears.  Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Wendy

check your bios settings.......

also check your power configuration settings and look at how the
" when I press the button on my computer "
do the following.

Right click desktop / properties / screensaver / power

Hi,

Thanks, I checked the BIOS setting.
The problem was actually the harddrive jumper was set incorrectly.  From the BIOS setting I see that harddrive was set to be the primary IDE slave which is incorrect.   After changing the jumper, I've shutdown and rebooted the computer several time.. it works fine now!
