Backup Exec missing tape

Hi,

I have the age of problem of needing to catalogue a backup set with a missing tape.  Its a two tape set, with the second tape missing.  I'd like to see (And then restore) whats on the first tape.  I'm using Veritas Backup Exec 7.3 on NT4, which was also used to make the backup.  However, it prompts for tape two which I don't have and there doesn't seem to be any way out of this other than to reboot the machine as I can't even cancel the job.

Advice (Other than "Don't lose tapes"!) would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks a lot
Simon

Hi sbhodge,

The Veritas article http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/191847.htm would seem to be what you're looking for.

I'm not going to say anything about keeping your tapes in a safe place....

I hope that this helps - let me know if you need any further help.
