how to increase memory used by a process

how to increase memory used by a process, i am trying to increase memory used by mssearch.exe,

I have

windows 2000 server
2GB RAM
I processor
SQl Server Stabdard Edition

Virtual memory 3070 MB

I don't think it is possible to force any application to use more memory than it was designed to do.  Your server seems to have adequate RAM so increasing that is unlikely to have much impact.  You don't say what processor the server has but a faster one just might offer some benefit.

Perhaps scaling out the searches would help.  There's a reference at:-
