slow flash when two windows are open

I have a BIG problem, I am having a complete flash site that is heavy. From that site you can run some simple games which open in a new window. Now the problem is that when both windows are open, the games run VERY SLOW. If I close the main window the speed improves.
Is there any way to put the first window in "sleep modus" or anything so that the games in second window can have a good performance.

Thanx in advance

Can you not just stop all of the animation/interaction/music, etc in the main window when the pop-up is launched, and have a click-to-continue screen, in which all  it is doing is waiting for a click from the user to continue what it was doing before? (I have seen many other websites do this)

Maybe a link to your site would help see where the problem is too!

go to the Navigation > USR Labs > Robot Lab > www.ns-5.com

The site is disabled at this point until a button is clicked.  Note not all pop-ups bahave the same way - I guess it's been balanced for performance.

I can't remember any others at this moment, but it clearly illustrates what I mean. They do tend to be feature rich (big film websites), and usually pause when a video pop-up is called.

I personally think it helps also to fade out, and remove animation from behind as it can be distracting to the user.

The speed increase when you close the main window is quite drastic, considering there doesn't appear to be a huge amount going on.

I noticed the height of your movie is very large (1400), when there is very little going on there - I would suggest reducing this (to where the sky stops gradiating), and using a table with a matching background colour instead.

I think the drawings may be slower to draw if they are all vectors (especially the gradients), and if you are using many listeners (like on keypresses, or mouse presses) this can reduce speed also.
