error when I try to setup outlook account
I cannot succussfully setup mu Outlook mail program. I have a work e-mail account that I use every day at work. I use Outlook express on my pc at work and every thing is fine. On my pc at home I cannot use outlook or outlook express.
After I setup the account with the proper mail server settings I get the following errors.
Task 'pop3.myacc.net - Sending and Receiving' reported error (0x8004210A) : 'The operation timed out waiting for a response from the receiving (POP) server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'

Does any one know of any tricks off hand to remedy this situation?

I downloaded the service pak 3 but have been not succesfull thus far in fixing the problem. I will try to tweak a few more things out. Any other suggestions?

well i am able to recieve mail but now i am getting the below error when i try to send mail.
i have triple checked my outgoing mail server; i believe it is correct

outlook express 6 is what i have

Most likely look that you need to have a fix or update your outlook
Also in Outlook increase the timeout going here
First setup your email account
go to tools --> email accounts --> view or change existing email account
just click on your email account and click on "Change"
click on "More settings"
Go to "Advanced" tab
and increase the "server timeout"
Close outlook and reopen again to check
