Services Problem In Win2k

My friend disabled his RPC Service.  Ive been trying to start it again but whenever I go into the services window (in administrative tools) and right click for properties nothing happens.  now if i try to close the service window it tells me that i can't close it because of open property pages - yet i dont see them.

any ideas?

Hi!

1. Reboot machine in safe mode.
2. Start Regedit (in Dos Prompt type Regedit)
3. Navigate to the following key:
 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RpcSs]
4. In the right pane double click the DWORD value "Start" and change its value to "2" (this means to start automatically when Windows starts)
5. Reboot in normal mode
