HTTP/FTP operations the VB.NET way

How do I upload and download files via HTTP or FTP in VB.NET? How does VB.NET do this? I'm looking for the .NET approach to this. I don't want to use wininet.dll because I don't want to get involved with COM or unmanaged code.

The freevbcode links to a space invaders game. I'll check out your Planet-Source code program. Any links from Microsoft?
