Hi,

I am currently having a problem on Windows 2000. In the normal condition, after starting off the OS, it will appear the memory count down screen, and then it will show the desktop screen. My problem is after the memory count down screen, then the desktop screen will be showing out, but after a while, my PC will "black-out", which it reboots again and go back to the memory count down screen. This kind scenario lasts for 3 times per time of using the PC. This problem happened since last two months. Is there any solution to overcome this problem? Much appreciate if you could advise me on it as far as possible.

Rgds,

Its probably just rebooting due to a BSOD.

Go to Control Panel > System > Advanced > Startup & Recovery and then untick Reboot Automatically.

If it is a BSOD then you will know next time as it will have a load of text on the screen.

Also check Event Viewer to see if there are any Dumps as that indicates there was a BSOD.

Other than that I'd say its probably hardware related.
