We are running SBS 2003 with Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2003 on clients.

After breakdown, I tried to reinstall the mailboxes in exchange server via Veritas Bacup Exec. I managed to install the mailboxes, but the user cannot download/synchronize with the server. They are getting an error: 0x80040107.

However there is no problem using OWA. So the mails and calenders are there. Please help !!!!

By the way I tried to use Exmerge to extract a pst-file from exchange server. That didn't work either I keep getting error code: (0x8004011d). Maybe this is another problem without connection to the first.

Hope for som help..

as per a newsgroup post:

http://www.webservertalk.com/message346516.html

"To restore an exchange database you would typically restore the information
store. Since you appear to have restored the individual mapi mail box
messages, restoring the information store would produce unpredictable
results. Since you rebuilt the exchange server from scratch it is difficult
to give you detailed instructions. Many things can go wrong if your server
wasn't rebuilt exactly as it was before the issues you had. The Veritas
manual provides instructions on how to rebuild a server, including the
Exchange portion. Best to refer back to that and then make a judgement on
what to do next."

From veritas:

"Before you begin restoration, the information store service must be started, but the databases that you want to restore must be dismounted" "NOTE: Don't forget to mount the database once the recovery is successful."
