Frame Refresh

I have got a simple frame set. When I take a link from the top frame it loads my page in the middle frame. Nothing is happening in the bottom pane.

Great - all works exactly as I want it to.

However,  if I have navigated to say my contact page which is in view in the middle frame and I press refresh it re loads the opening home page back into my middle frame window! It does not do it on other frame sites I have written and I cannot see anything obviously different between one that does and one that does not.

Any ideas? I would like it to simply refresh the page that is currently being viewed.

I have cracked it - if my frame page is .asp it refreshes back to the home page, if is is .htm it refreshes the page open at the time!

Anybody tell me why? There's nothing in the code to tell it to redirect.

in frames ... each frame is considered as a different window ... and naturally when you refresh one window ... all other windows are NOT refreshed ... in case of asp ... the whole page having the frames tag is refreshed and created again by the server ... thats why it refreshes everything ...

you can try to refresh the other frames though javascript ...

try doing it by frameName.refresh() in javascript

paste your code for refreshing the page if this doesn't work for u
