Hi
We have an IM4230 that has just gone on vacation so we are tying to get an Epson DFX5000 trying to emulate the IBM4230 to print invoices.

We are using a remote output queue through a JetDirect Box and have tried various options.

We have set the DIP switches to put the printer in Both native and IBM emulation modes

We have also tried the supplied Manufacturer type and model types without success; then tried some others and have got it so that :

*EPLQ1070 prints the CPI15 is OK
*EPDFX500 prints the CPI10 is OK

Has anyone merged the two workstation customisation objects or has any other ideas.

This is required fairly quickly

hi dave,
i've not tried merging, but i've tried modifying a *WSCST
if you think you want to merge them, then can RTVWSCST on both *EPLQ1070 and *EPDFX500, and combine into another member, and CRTWSCST into another name, it's safe as it's not replacing the original WSCST.
AFAIK, if we are using correct WSCST, the printer should not run under emulation mode, and should run in native mode.

would you consider to use CRTDEVPRT instead?

Hi dedy.

Thanks for the responce.
In the end I had to re-write the print to use a single CPI - it was easier than trying the Workstation customisation headache
